About Frank Ostoff
Frank Ostoff was born in 1957, and after a
period as a sailor and studying ship-engineering he began training in Aikido at
the age of
23.
Inspired by his former instructors in Oldenburg
and Hamburg his path lead him to the Aikido-Zen Institute of Gerhard Walter in Berlin. The
intensive time as a Master Student (ushi-deshi) allowed him to further his training with
Christian Tissier in Paris and Yamaguchi Sensei and Endo Sensei in Japan.

1991 he
founded the Aikido Dojo Düsseldorf and began teaching. Taking part in many
international seminars has created good contacts and
friendship with many Aikido Masters throughout Europe and Japan who support and help the
development of his dojo.
